In 2015, the Commissioners and staff created a strategic plan, which identified the need for a new station with living quarter, larger apparatus bays, more training room space, and a future training facility. Site selection was challenging and took about two years.
Things moved quickly once design was completed. Once the General Contractor was selected, groundwork proceeded in a timely manner. The project was held up for about two months for permitting, but started back up once the Building Permit was in hand.
The Commissioners, career staff, and volunteers were present for the ground breaking ceremony.
