The District would like to remind residents and visitors that the County Wide Burn Restriction begins Saturday, June 1, 2019 and ends Tuesday, October 1,2019 unless it is extended by the County Commissioners due to high to extreme fire danger.   The entire notice can be downloaded below.

Outside burning is banned within the Mattawa urban growth area per the Department of Ecology (DOE).  To view a map of this area and find out more about residential outside fires and burning, click HERE.

Daily Burn Decision

The Department of Ecology (DOE) makes a daily decision regarding agricultural and other burning outside of urban growth areas based on current weather conditions and weather models.  To learn the daily burn decision, you may call DOE at (800) 406-5322, option 2, then option 5 (District 8 is in Zone 43) or the District office after 9:00 AM.  If burning is allowed, please notify the District office of your planned burn.
